Operator OS
A unified operating system across a private equity firm's portfolio companies — diligence, KPI tracking, and quarterly board materials in one model. Replaces nine vendors.
The state of play.
The firm's operating partners were running twenty-two portfolio companies on a stack of nine vendors that did not talk to each other. Diligence lived in one place, KPI tracking in another, board materials in a third. Every quarter began with two weeks of reconciliation before any actual work could happen.
What we built.
We built Operator OS as a single multi-tenant TypeScript application with tRPC end-to-end, a Snowflake warehouse for portco-level metrics, and Linear hooked in for the operational layer. The model is the contract: every portco maps onto a known schema, and every quarterly review is generated from the same data the operators see daily.
What shipped.
Eighty million dollars of operational cycle freed up across the portfolio in year one. Nine vendors retired. Twenty-two portcos onboarded inside seven months. The quarterly review now starts on Monday with the deck already true.
Quiet, surgical, and the most senior team I have shipped with in fifteen years.
